Title: LUMCON Environmental Monitoring Station in Terrebonne Bay

Abstract:

This station was located approximately 1 nautical mile due east of the Houma Navigational Channel in Terrebonne Bay. The station platform is 6.68 nautical miles from the LUMCON Marine Facility, at a bearing of 141 degrees true. It collected both meteorological and hydrographical data. The instruments that were used to measure and collect the data are calibrated and maintained. Parameters such as the year, Julian date, time, stationid, signature, latitude, longitude, air temperature, relative humidity, solar radiation, quantum solar radiation, barometric pressure, wind speed, wind direction, air temperature, precipitation, water temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, depth and the number of scans are saved. These parameters were collected and saved in a .dat file.

Supplemental_Information:

On June 7, 2004 in the early morning hours, a large vessel destroyed the station. Plans are currently underway to rebuild the structure, however, no data will be received until construction is complete.
